In pa še razlog zakaj je Rainbow Six: Patriots postala Rainbow Six: Siege.

Speaking to CVG, Guillemot said Ubisoft realised it “needed to go first with multiplayer” – hence the reboot.

 

“Before when we made games, we were leading first with single-player and then taking the systems from that to do multi-player. With Rainbow Six we said, ‘OK, we have to change our way of doing things’ – lead with multi-player first and then make single-player from that,” he said.

 

“That’s what made us change the game totally. We decided to restart with that in mind. The decision came from what we were seeing in the marketplace and because we wanted to do a 60 frames-per-second multi-player game.”

 

Although Patriots received a mixed reaciton on reveal thanks to controversial narrative elements in its early trailers, Guillemot said the decision to rethink the project was gameplay-driven, not inspired by backlash.

Zdaj je še uradno zakaj je so razvoj Patriots prekinili in šli s Siege.

Ubisoft’s Oliver Couture has explained why the French publisher decided to bin Rainbow Six: Patriots in favor of the recently-announced Rainbow Six: Siege. Couture explained it was largely down to wanting to offer an experience for next-generation consoles.

“To be completely transparent, I worked on Patriots – on Rainbow Six for three-and-a-half years – and Patriots was old-gen. Xbox 360 and PS3. Next-gen consoles were just around the corner, and we were like, ‘OK, we want to also have a next-gen experience. What can we do for that?’

“We were trying stuff out with destruction technology, and we realized destruction really changes the game. We tried to see how it could fit with old-gen, but it just didn’t work out. So for us it was just a better solution to clean the slate, reset, and make what’s best for the players.

“We’ve been working hard for the past year-and-a-half [on Siege].”

Bo pa igra, kljub temu, da je bil prikazan večigralski način, imela tudi enoigralski način. Vendar zaenkrat podrobnosti še nočejo izdati.

Despite its focus on multiplayer, Siege will still support a single-player component, though Couture's keeping details close to his chest for now.

“The scope of the single-player is not completely clear yet, so I cannot really elaborate on it. All I know is that the message we have on the production floor is like, ‘All the comments online, people are always talking about single-player. So we’re gonna have something for them.’ But I can’t say if it will be more cinematic [like Patriots was] yet.”

Sam sem vesel, da bo tudi za SP nekaj in da ne bo samo MP deležen vseh "bonbonov." Zdaj upam samo da bo še s The Division enako. Ker baje naj bi tudi SP bil tam in če bo to to, pol je to win-win za mojo košarico. :-)

Še ena izmed iger, kje je bilo/je glavno vprašanje ali bo igra "tekla" pri 30 ali 60 FPS.

Rainbow Six: Siege will be running at 60fps when it launches next year on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Now, the game’s official Twitter account has answered some fan questions regarding the latest blog post. The most interesting ones being that the development team is focused on making a spiritual successor to the classic Rainbow Six games, and the fact that the game will run at 60fps.

Kolkor sem slišal, naj bi bila tudi SP. Podobno kot The Division, kjer je bilo govora le o MP potem pa so povedali da bo tudi SP in to v podobi kampanje.

Tole je znanega glede SP načina v RSS:

60FPS je pametna poteza, glede na to da gre striktno za streljačino. Pa tudi nekih velikih težav ne bi smeli imeti glede na (trenutno pokazane) male mape in ne preveč hudo fiziko rušenja zidov.

Kar se tiče SP pa upam da ne bo šlo za popolnoma enako zadevo kot pri MP, s tem da bo soigralce upravljal AI. Upam da si bodo kaj boljšega izmislili glede kampanje.

"'House' was simply the first map that we felt showed how different and claustrophobic Siege’s [close-quarters combat, or CQC] gameplay can be," Witts told IGN when asked if we'd see other types of environments in the final game. "Rainbow Six is an international intervention group that carries out operations all over the globe and this will not be different in Siege. Expect to travel to diverse locations, each one being a lot different from the one map that we have shown so far."

Ubisoft sprejema prijave za "zaprto" testiranje igre, vendar zgolj za lastnike PCjev.

Test bo obsegal zgolj večigralsko različico igre in bo na voljo le za ZDA in Evropo.

 

 

 

 

Za začetek je potrebno biti lastnik Uplay računa. Kdaj se bo testiranje pričelo, bo znano bližje datumu začetka testiranja.

 

Še priporočljive sistemske zahteve:

 

 

  • OS: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, x64
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX-8120 Eight-Core
  • CPU Speed: 3.3 GHz (Recommended), 2.6 GHz (Minimum)

Izid igre je predviden v Ubisoftovem fiskalnem letu 2016 - kar pomeni najkasneje izid igre do 31. marca 2016.

Nekaj informacij o igri (vse info so iz alpha verzije igre):

  • The air-plane map, named “Plane”, has the following (named) zones: Seating Journalist, Bathroom, Exterior, Cargo, Cargo Entrance, First Aid, Cargo Room A, Cargo Room B, Military Seating, Stairs Cockpit, Kitchen Prep, Seating Staff,

  • The plane map has the following CAMs in “Support Mode” (after one’s death): Luggage Hold, Cabin Staff, Main Corridor, (plus atleast 2 more)

  • The designated names of different areas (above) will be helpful in planning out a round and in voice-comms

  • The map is huge! The plane is also very huge with detailed in-door environments (with fantastic lighting), multiple floors etc.

  • CTUs: GIGN (atleast 3 CTUs will be in the closed-alpha)

  • Primary Weapons: MP5 MLI (stock color in closed-alpha is golden), P90, 591A1, FAMAS G2, K33 NATO, G36C,

  • Secondary Weapons: NP-9, Model 586, MAC11, 226 MK25, M45 MEUSOC,

  • Gadgets: Barbed Wire (hurts and slows down attackers), Sledgehammer (a breaching hammer to breach through destructible surfaces), Deployable Shield (crouch-height cover that blocks all weapon damage), Breach Charge, Stun Grenade, EMP Grenade (disables any electronics in range), Shock-Drone (disables traps and also shocks enemies), Frag, Bonfire Launcher,

  • Defenders / Attackers Types: Recruit (can be picked by more than one player and has the most customization options), Thatcher (Attacker – UK flag on his arm), Twitch (Attacker – WIP, plus a GIGN tag on his arm), Sledge (Attacker), Ash (Attacker – probably the female operator), (a total of 11 types are available, recruit is common to both Attacker and Defenders, plus 5 unique types for both Attacker / Defender, each)

  • Moreover, each kit has a specific icon

  • Each Defender / Attacker / CTU type has a specific “bonus” ability: Recruit (Croix Rogue – Improved revive ability), Thatcher (Gas Mask – Damage received from smoke is reduced and also no coughing will happen)

  • Knifing is confirmed!

  • Grenade explosion has a deafening effect that lasts around 5 seconds or so

  • Scoring Points: Barricading: +5, Injure: +50, Injure Assist: +50, Confirm Kill: +50, Kill Assist: +75, Kill: +100, Headshot: +50, Gadget Destroyed: +10,

  • Barricading can be destroyed by team-mates

  • When injured, you can move/crawl to get to safety

  • The voice-overs in the video were in English, but the accent was French

  • The animation for climbing up ladders is not yet properly implemented, as it can been in the screenshot that there’s a gap between the player and ladder

  • When hit, your screen gets zoom-blurred for a moment

  • When an enemy player notices and shoots at you, you can see the white hit-direction-indicators on-screen

  • This area shows the health of your player, and probably body-armor type/ status. The shirt icon probably shows that the player isn’t wearing any armour

  • Magazine Reloading: If you have ammo 1/269 and you reload, you get to 31/239 (for the MP5 MLI). Moreover, the reload animation restarts if interrupted by another action

  • DEATH REPLAY (aka 1st-person Kill-Cam) of around 7 seconds is shown after one’s death, which can also be “skipped”

  • Additionally, there’s an END OF ROUND REPLAY as well

  • A decisive round shows “MATCH POINT” on the top of timer-clock

  • DAMAGE LOG (top-right) indicating the damage done by your killer is shown in the DEATH REPLAY screen

  • End-of-Round screen shows ROUND GRAPH (time-line of kills etc.) and ROUND REPORT (scores, K/D, etc.)

  • Some of the stuff shows WIP (work in progress). The textures also read “ALPHA” at some places on the map.

Kasneje letos bo za vse, ki so prednaročili igro Rainbow Six na voljo zaprta beta.

Ubisoft has announced that it will be launching a beta session for Rainbow Six Siege for PS4, PC, and Xbox One later this year.

The French publisher confirmed that beta access is guaranteed to those who pre-order the upcoming squad-based shooter.

Operators are what makes any Counter Terrorist Unit and you will get to choose each of them individually before assembling a team. Any operator you choose will not be available for others though, so planning ahead will be crucial.

The new trailer shows the many roles these guys can play, depending on the situation. Either breachers or defenders. The game has 20 operators available to choose from, making up a total of five CTU units.

Izid igre je dobil "ožje" okno v katerem bo izšla igra. In sicer je izid igre planiran za letošnjo jesen (september-december).

Rainbow Six Siege will release this autumn, new adverts for the game have confirmed. The game had previously only been given a general 2015 release date.
