Resident Evil 7 will come to Nintendo Switch but not in the way you would think a usual port would go. Instead of being made available the usual ways on the eShop or physical copy, it will be playable via cloud.

 

Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 7 will be coming to Japan and will be playable in both in docked and undocked mode. However, players will need a steady internet connection in order to play the title. The cloud version will be complete with all four DLC packs which were released for the console and PC versions. A 15 minute demo version of the game will be available for free but after that players will be given an option to purchase an 180 day service pass which allow them to play the full the game.

 

Pricing is set at ¥2,000, which is around $18.01, which will include 180 days of gameplay. The save files will also be stored on the cloud rather on the Nintendo Switch itself. But Capcom have warned files linked with an inactive account will be subject to deletion.

In ta verzija bo na voljo samo na Japonskem... verjetno za zmeraj.

 

Drugače pa je to nekako čudno s filozofijo Switcha, ker gre vseeno za mobilno konzolo. Ponavadi na poti nimaš ravno dobrega stabilnega interneta.

Tale droben tisk me sicer malo skrbi. A vendar upam, da bo to veljaljo za "tavečje" špile. (Skyrim, Breath of the Wild, Pokémon, Mario etc.) 
Igre, kjer imaš lahko not krepko čez 50, 100 ur!!

The Nintendo Switch has now outsold the GameCube.

The Switch has sold 22.86m units, Nintendo revealed in its latest financial update. The GameCube ended up on 21.74m units sold.

As for Switch game sales, Nintendo said Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze sold 1.67m units after its May release, and Mario Tennis Aces sold 2.16m after its June release. Super Mario Odyssey remains the best-selling Switch game with 12.17m sold, closely followed by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on 11.71m and then The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on 10.28m. Splatoon 2 is in fourth place with 7.47m sold.

Nintendo to Launch Two New Switch Models

The new gaming consoles will be released as early as this summer

Nintendo plans to launch two new versions of its Switch gaming console as early as this summer, people familiar with the matter said, as the company seeks to sustain sales momentum for the product going into a crucial third year.

One version will have enhanced features targeted at avid videogamers, although it won’t be as powerful as Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro or Microsoft Xbox One X, according to parts suppliers and software developers for Nintendo who have access to a prototype of the machine.

The other version is a cheaper option for casual gamers that Nintendo sees as a successor to its aging hand-held 3DS device, the suppliers and developers say.

The new models are likely to be unveiled at the E3 videogame Expo in Los Angeles in June and possibly released a few months later, one person familiar with Nintendo’s plans said. Kyoto-based Nintendo declined to comment.

Prices for the new Switch models couldn’t be learned. To cut costs for the cheaper version, Nintendo plans to eliminate some of the functions used in the original Switch console, such as a vibration feature in its controllers, according to Nintendo suppliers.

V bistvu verjetno nimajo kaj dosti za izbirati zaradi kompatibilnosti za nazaj. Tegra X2 bi bila logično nadaljevanje.

Ostaja tudi opcija, da obstoječi čip še mogoče malo spimpajo in nadgradijo sam Switch - boljši (in mogoče večji) ekran, večja baterija, kickstand ki dejansko drži, bluetooth, več vgrajenega spomina,...

Switch update v8.0.0 med najbolj zanimivimi novostmi prinaša možnost prenosa save game datotek med sistemi. Nekaj kar potrjuje govorico, da bo Nintendo predstavil nov Switch oz. kar dva.

 We've spoken to a HonSon representative about the product listings in question, and have been told that the company has based these products on "secret" information and that it is waiting for Nintendo to officially confirm the system before putting these items into production; HonSon will then "adjust the model to ensure it can perfectly suit the console". The representative also confirmed that, based on the information it has received, the Switch Mini is (as the name suggests) "a little smaller" than the current version.

Prenovljen Switch je vse bližje!

 

Nov ekran bi naj bil 7 colski OLED (aleluja!) od Samsunga. Resolucija žal še vedno ostaja 720p.

Za primerjavo ... trenutni Switch ima 6,2 colski 720p LCD zaslon, Switch Lite pa 5,5 colski 720p LCD.

 

Proizvodnja bi naj stekla junija, nov Switch pa bi naj bil na voljo ekran konec leta (za praznike).

Nov Switch bi naj bil do 4K (preko HDMIja), ampak glede na 720p ekran, bi rekel, da bo ta 4K resolucija pridobljena z Nvidia AI upscalerjem. Zadeva je že stestirana in deluje baje zelo dobro v novem Nvidia Shield TVju.

To o 4K sem bral ja, ampak kot si rekel matej1990, zgolj na TVju. Portable mode bo še vedno omejen, ampak že to da bo sploh 4K je dovolj. Če je to Nvidiin AI upscale bo super reč, stvar je kar se tega tiče zelo dobra. 

Pa še OLED. 🙌

Hmm... Kot kaže bi naj imel nov čip v Switchu podporo za DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling). DLSS je bil implementiran komaj v Nvidia RTX 20-seriji, kar nakazuje, da gre za nek popolnoma nov Nvidia čip, ki še ni poznan. Ta novejša upscale tehnologija, bi naj zahtevala dodatno kodo v igrah, zato je mišljena predvsem za novejše igre.

Nov čip bi naj imel tudi boljši CPU in več spomina.

Cena bi prav tako naj poskočila napram originalni Switch ceni in sicer za 50-100$ višje.
