With Ico, the way the AI was implemented was a challenge, and in SOTC, the way you could climb those bosses was another.

Eurogamer spoke to Sony's Jim Ryan following this report and asked him, flatly, whether The Last Guardian had been cancelled.

"I don't believe it's been cancelled," he answered. "Had it been cancelled, some sort of announcement would have been made. I think the watch-word is patience."

We asked whether "PS4" would be another word and he fell about laughing, unfortunately giving nowt else away.

The Last Guardian – the PlayStation-exclusive title from Team ICO which has now been in development for some eight years – is still “absolutely in the mix” at Sony, according to Scott Rohde, one of the men in charge of Sony’s roster of fully-owned studios.

“You’re going to be very frustrated by this answer,” Rohde said, “but it is 100 percent the God’s honest truth, and that is that we want to make great games. And when we see that the public is so interested in a specific game, of course that drives us to want to complete that game. But it also drives us to want to make it great. We would not want to ship that game if we don’t think it’s great.”

When asked whether it was still a PlayStation 3 game or if it’s migrated to PlayStation 4, Rohde said that he’s “not going to announce what platform it’s coming on, who’s working on it, who’s involved. But that is still a title that’s absolutely in the mix at Worldwide Studios. That’s the most you’re gonna get.”

As to what's actually happening with The Last Guardian, which is widely believed to have shifted platform to the PlayStation 4, the situation remains much as it was at Gamescom last year. "It's the same message!" Yoshida said with a smile.

"Lots of people tweeted me they were heartbroken by that news [prior to the show]. People are going through this roller coaster of emotions, and it's our fault for not releasing the game, yet. We owe a lot to those people, but we really don't want to release piecemeal information until we can say this is The Last Guardian - so we ask you to wait."

Šele pred letom naj bi spet začeli z razvojem, pod drugo ekipo in drugim direktorjem. Pa lahko da so tudi povsem predrugačili koncept.

In kdo hudiča ukaže, da se zaradi reorganizacije preseli celotna TLG ekipa... debilna poteza. Naj se reorganizirajo, ampak tako pomembna igra ne sme čutiti posledic.

The Guardian je med najbolj pričakovane letošnje E3 igre uvrstil tudi Last Guardian!

Yes, we know it has been in development hell since 2007, but we have it on very good authority that this will be the year that Team Ico finally presents its follow-up to much loved classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Whether it’ll bear any relation to the game last shown at E3 in 2009 is anyone’s guess.

Kot Phoenix iz pepela se je vrnil The Last Guardian na letošnjem E3! Igra, ki so jo že neštetokrat odpisali se je vrnila. Izid je postavljen v 2016.

Zdaj je treba samo upat, da ne bo spet - prestavljena.

Zakaj tako dolgo odlaganje igre.

“There were lots of technical issues”, said Yoshida-san. “The video we showed, the trailer on PS3, was specced up. The game was running at a much lower frame rate… it was clear that the team had to make a compromise.”

Do 2012 je bila ta zgodba, potem pa se je pričelo s PS4.

The executive went on to say that development continued on PS3 with various problems until 2012, when the project shifted to Sony's current-generation console. It was from this point that The Last Guardian was finally able to make some progress, and is now "totally playable" on PS4, Yoshida-san added.
