Je pa nekaj jasno - kaj dosti novega o Project Cafe ne bodo izvedeli do junija. Morda bo dan prej kak zvest žurnalist objavil kaj, a pričakujem večino zadev skritih do tiskovke.

Ni ti to MS, kjer vse leti ven 14 dni prej, ali pa Sony, ki bo morda celo PSN usposobu do takrat :bis:

Noting that Tecmo Koei is trusted by hardware makers as a third party that will always have a titles ready in time for a platform's launch, he said that he'd like have launch titles for Nintendo's Wii 2 successor platform.

Making Project Café versions of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 games won't be a stretch, according to comments from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.

Speaking at an investor call today, Guillemot revealed that his teams will be able to utilise a lot of the work done on titles for the current HD consoles when developing for Nintendo's new platform.

"The platform Nintendo is coming with is really a fantastic platform. We think it will be extremely successful," he stated.

"What we see is that we will be able to leverage a lot of the work we do for Xbox 360 and PS3 while we create games for the platform.

"So we will not have to redo completely the games that we create. We'll be able to use all the capacity the console is giving but also use all the work we do for the other platforms."

Nintendo hasn't officially released tech specs for its new console yet but speculation suggests it'll boast slightly more oomph than Microsoft and Sony's current systems. A full reveal is expected during its E3 presentation next month.

Obenem sem skoraj 100 %, da bo eden od lansirnih naslovov novi del Pikminov, o katerem Mijamoto govori že 2 leti, a ga še nismo ugledali - verjetno je šlo za Wii projekt, ki so ga morda že pred kakim letom prestavili na Wii 2 oz. Project Cafe, kakor je kodno ime.

Nej dajo še mal plastike okol, da bo večje zgledal. Mal hecno dat 300 Eur za en external CD Drive. Kje je pa napajalnik?

Je pa luškan, ga maš lahko v naročju pa se ni treba pretegovat ko menjaš igre. Pa pazit da ti jajčka preveč ne segreje.

Meni je všeč! Samo kabli, jao, kabli... Tega se nikjer ne vidi.

Wii U does not have DVD or Blu-ray playback capabilities. The reason for that is that we feel that enough people already have devices that are capable of playing DVDs and Blu-ray, such that it didn't warrant the cost involved to build that functionality into the Wii U console because of the patents related to those technologies.

Trenutni dev kiti so stari skorajda 4 mesece, do konca meseca grejo v obtok prve nove verzije. Trenutni dev kiti naj bi bili precej pod končno konfiguracijo, tko da naj bi bil to eden od razlogov, da je Nintendo preklical objavo posnetkov Wii U špilov (tako svojih kot 3rd party) na E3ju. Veliko razvijalcev ima opremo, a so NDAji taki, da noben ne upa niti črhnit.

Portanje ni problem, enako tudi ne podpora grafičnim pogonom (Crytek naj bi mel delujoč CryEngine 3 na dev kitu postavljen v 2 tednih). Več pa morda že na GamesConu oziroma jeseni na posebnem WiiU eventu.

To je običajna praksa, da so dev kiti v zgodnjih verzijah precej drugačni od končnega produkta. Najprej se pač razvijalcem dostavi nekaj takega, kar ima podobno arhitekturo, tako da se lahko prične prilagajat grafične pogone, razvijat nove produkte, obenem pa je programerjem že jasno, kako naj prilagajajo kodo. Potem v nadaljevanju vsake par mesecev prihajajo nove razvojne enote, z novim hardverom (drugačne frekvence CPU, GPU, RAMa/druge komponente, različne velikosti pomnilnikov... ) ter novimi razvojnimi orodji. Takrat majo razvijalci že več vpogleda, kako stvar deluje in bo delovala. Končni dev kiti ponavadi pridejo šele nekaj mesecev pred prihodom konzole na trg (za X360 so jih recimo dobili 2 meseca pred lansiranjem).

Seveda so tu v prednosti interni studii, ki prej dobijo ustrezen hardver.

Valve likes them Wiioo.

This morning, Valve head and co-founder Gabe Newell gave one of several keynotes at New York's Games for Change Festival, speaking to a variety of topics surrounding education and gaming. And while we'll have a full breakdown of that keynote in the coming hours, we thought you might like to know what Newell had to say about Nintendo's Wii U and his studio when we put the question to him.

"Wii U seems to be a lot more powerful than the previous generation," he told Joystiq. "It sort of fits better into the scalability in terms of graphics performance and CPU performance, so I think it'll be a lot easier for us to fit it into our scalability model."Valve has yet to release any of its games on a Nintendo console, though Gabe told us, "We've always loved Nintendo." He also pointed out that Valve has been slowly transitioning from the PC to console counterparts, starting with Xbox 360 and more recently moving to the PlayStation 3 in a major way with Steam getting ported to Sony's console.

And it looks like Nintendo may be next, as Newell restated, "Now it's a lot easier to look at Wii U and have it fit within that framework."

Try as you might to maintain your nonchalant demeanor, we know you're fired up about the potential of the Wii U. Well, we won't spill your secrets, but we thought you might like to know that Reggie Fils-Aime, the president of Nintendo of America, recently sat down with David M. Ewalt at Forbes to talk about the company's upcoming console. You'll find the full interview at the source but here are a few of the more interesting tidbits. As you may have guessed, the original Wii won't be disappearing immediately. The two will be sold side by side in stores for at least a little while. Interestingly, while we already knew that games will be playable entirely on the controller, turns out there is nothing technically stopping the console from streaming other media to the portable screen -- including content from your Netflix account. Sadly, you'll be waiting till at least Q2 of 2012 to pick one up -- as Fils-Aime revealed, the next-gen gaming device won't launch until "after April 1st."
