When we announced that Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ was available for Pre-Order, we also told you about the many digital items that come as a bonus for purchasing the game. While there is a pre-order bonus for everyone who secures their copy of the game regardless of the edition pre-ordered, some of these digital items are reserved for those of you who purchase either the Digital Deluxe Edition or Collector’s Edition of the game.

To add clarity, we’ve decided to break down the digital items that you will be able to gain access to in each edition of Star Wars: The Old Republic.

    [h=3]All Pre-Orders:[/h]

    • Color Stone. Included as part of every pre-order of Star Wars: The Old Republic, the Color Stone is a special crystal that players can use to change the color of any lightsaber blade or blaster bolt to a yellow hue encased in a black outer shell.

This item will be unlocked and tied to your account when you register your pre-order code on the StarWarsTheOldRepublic.com Code Redemption Center.

[h=3]Digital Deluxe Edition:[/h] These items are included as bonuses for the Digital Deluxe Edition.

    • Flare Gun. The Flare Gun is a small cosmetic device that allows you to fire a particle flare high into the sky above your character’s head.
    • Training Droid. A small but advanced piece of machinery, the Training Droid will hover by your side as you explore the galaxy. The Training Droid will also serve you in combat, marking your target with a particle effect that clearly identifies them as an enemy.
    • HoloDancer. The HoloDancer allows you to take the party with you in your travels and can be deployed at almost any time by activating the HoloDancer and targeting the ground near your character.
    • HoloCam. The HoloCam lets your character take high-resolution images of the countless wonders that they will discover on their journey across the galaxy.
    • STAP. The STAP, or Single Trooper Aerial Platform, is a custom-skinned vehicle that you will be able to acquire at no cost to you. The vehicle itself will become available once your character gains the ability to pilot vehicles.

Once you redeem your Digital Deluxe Game Code on the www.StarWarsTheOldRepublic.com Code Redemption Center, these items will be unlocked on your account and will be available to any character you make.

[h=3]Collector’s Edition:[/h] In addition to the items included in the Digital Deluxe Edition, the Collector’s Edition of Star Wars: The Old Republic includes the following items.

    • Mouse Droid. This mouse droid, custom-skinned for Collector’s Edition owners, serves as a faithful pet that will follow you as you make your way across the galaxy.

  3. Še nekaj informacij s konference:

Nintendo 3DS Press Conference Recap: Special Edition Mario 3DS Systems, Kid Icarus

A limited number of special, Mario-themed systems will be given away through Club Nintendo.

    mario-3ds-systems.jpg

Nintendo broadcasted a pre-recorded press conference today via their official website, NicoNico Video and Ustream. Announced just this Wednesday, Nintendo teased that the conference was to highlight the features of the new Nintendo 3DS system update, the online features of Mario Kart 7, and some other stuff they couldn't fit into their TGS press conference.

Now that the actually kind of bizarre (thanks to president Satoru Iwata's crazy hand gestures) conference is over, we gathered all the interesting bits into an easy-to-digest list.

    3DS System Update:

    • 3D Movies: Record up to 10 minutes of video, featuring time lapse interval (take photos at every x seconds), stop motion, and rapid fire shots.
    • Ability to move data to new 3DS.

    New StreetPass Games:

    • New puzzles for Puzzle Swap.
    • Find Mii 2: Multiple paths, parties, no need to clear the first game to play FM2.
    • StreetPass Map: People you meet through StreetPass will populate a map. The only map shown on the video was for Japan, but chances are it will work for people around the globe.

    Mario Kart 7

    • The game runs at 60 frames per second.
    • 8-player online multiplayer support.
    • Ability to jump into friends' games.
    • "Mario Kart Channel" contains all StreetPass and Ghost data.
    • Players' Miis can invade other peoples' single-player games.
    • You'll be able to jump into the games of people you have interacted with through StreetPass if they are playing online (much like you can do with people on your friends list).
    • Using SpotPass you will receive up to 20 ghosts every day.
    • You'll be able to race against up to 7 ghosts at once.
    • "Community" Section: Community is a guild-like system where you can create your own small community to play with the same friends or groups.

    3DS Download Games

    • Shissou Surinuke Anatousu: Rotate blocks to fit through holes, kind of like a 3D Tetris. It's out today.
    • Hirari Sakura Samurai: 3D action game dodge enemies attacks and cut them, kind of reminiscent of Punch-Out!!
    • Itsumo Henkan nikki: Finally, you can send messages to people on your friends list. All messages are handwritten and there are different message backgrounds (think postcards); there is also support for the camera (so you can attach pictures to messages), 3D hand-drawn messages, and the ability to transfer sound. It releases as a separate app in December.

    New 3DS Packaged Game:

    • Lost Heroes: First-person dungeon crawler RPG featuring Kamen Rider, Ultraman and Gundam characters. Scheduled for a 2012 release.

Chotto Mario na 3DS Present Campaign

    • If you buy two Nintendo games this Christmas you can enter a special drawing via Club Nintendo to win one of three special edition Mario-themed 3DS systems (pictured above). There will be only 1000 systems available per design. No word on if this is available in North America.
    • All people who enter get a download copy of 3D Classics: Kid Icarus. 3D Classics: Kid Icarus will also be available on the Nintendo eShop after the contest is over.

    Monster Hunter 3G

    • A new trailer showed new moves for returning monsters as well as new subspecies for Jinouga, Jhen Mohran, Doboruberuku and a very very evil-looking Deviljho.

If you missed the conference, you'll be able to view some of the movies shown at the conference in 3D on the Nintendo eShop -- that is, if you own a Japanese 3DS (no word on if these videos will show up on any other region's eShop). Or you can see them on the web in 2D on Nintendo's official Japanese website here.

  4. Some Vita titles require memory card

While some Vita titles will let you save your progress directly onto the game cart, others will require you to purchase an external memory card.

According to Kotaku Japan, of the previously published launch line-up, the following games need a card:

    • Uncharted: Golden Abyss
    • Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention
    • @Field
    • Hot Shots Golf 6
    • Monster Radar
    • Dream Club Zero Portable

Touch My Katamari might also be added to that list, but Namco Bandai is yet to confirm details.

The above applies to physical retail versions of the games. All games downloaded through PlayStation Network will require a memory card for saves.

    Sony hasn't announced UK prices of the memory cards, which are proprietary to the handheld. In Japan, a 4GB card costs ¥2,200 (£18), an 8GB ¥3,200 (£26), 16GB ¥5,500 (£45), and a 32GB ¥9,500 (£78).

  5. 'Xbox Next' govorice:

Sources point to 2013 launch for 'Xbox Next'

Several projects already underway for new Microsoft system

Microsoft and industry partners are working towards a 2013 launch of the next generation Xbox, Develop understands.

Multiple sources across the industry, from processor chip manufacturers to middleware firms, have told Develop they expect the console to be fully unveiled at E3 2013, months before its release. The collection of data points to a 2013 launch for the system across all main regions, though early 2014 remains a possibility.

Few in the games business expect Xbox Next to be in stores before the holiday side of 2013 – this Christmas and the next will likely see Microsoft marketing software for Xbox 360, Windows Phone and its Kinect motion controller.

    Microsoft has declined to comment.

    In further developments:

    * Develop understands that Lionhead is working on a project internally named ‘Fable Next’, which will launch on the new console.

    * Epic Games’ new Unreal Engine would likely be available sooner than the 2014 date recently given by studio founder Tim Sweeney.

    * One source still insists that an EA studio already has rudimentary Xbox console technology on desks. EA has flatly denied the claim.

  6. Sony Raises the PlayStation Network Trophy Cap

Level 50 is no longer the ceiling on PSN.

In early September, we reported that the PlayStation Network level cap has been reached by a PS3 account known as Hakoom. The level cap was 50 (1%), and it seemed that Sony didn't have any intention of letting PS3 users go any higher for the time being.

But Hakoom reached out to us here at IGN to let us know that the cap had indeed been lifted. After verifying the information on the PlayStation Network for ourselves, we're ready to report that Level 50 (1%) is no longer the absolute height of what PS3 gamers could reach.

Hakoom is now at Level 55 (42%), with 15,662 total Trophies earned. That includes 296 Platinum Trophies. However, the user duck360 is still king, sitting at Level 56 (84%), with 15,868 Trophies and 319 Platinum Trophies. Whether or not there is a new cap remains to be seen, although one of these two dueling Trophy Hunters are bound to answer that question for themselves one day soon.

    Govorice o PS4:

Sony studios 'begin PlayStation 4 projects'

But PS3, Vita and Move games will remain the major focus for years

  7. Pazljivo pri nakupu DLC-ja!!

Gran Turismo 5 DLC locked to one PSN ID

You can only play the new Gran Turismo 5 DLC using the PSN ID you bought the content with - it's locked to a single account.

The Gran Turismo 5 website confirms this:

    • "The DLC released on October 18th is tied to the Account ID used to purchase the DLC. It is not possible to use the DLC with accounts other than the one that was used to make the actual purchase. Therefore, please make sure to purchase the DLC with the account that is used to play Gran Turismo 5."

Gran Turismo 5 creator Kazunori Yamauchi was inundated by fans asking why on Twitter.

"Resolving the problem with using the DLC on multiple accounts is not simple," he said.

"It would be best if we could attribute the entitlement to use the DLC items to multiple accounts in the same PS3.

"But there is nothing like that in the PSN setup, and we can only assign the entitlements per user ID.

"There just isn't a good solution for this I can think of."

  8. The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword Was Originally Planned With Button Controls

Wii MotionPlus sword swinging controls are new for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, but the game’s defining feature wasn’t always part of producer Eiji Aonuma’s plan. Aonuma began planning the next Zelda game after completing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Hidemaro Fujibayashi, director on Skyward Sword and a number of Zelda games for Game Boy, suggested to use Wii MotionPlus.

Fujibayashi was experimenting with the new hardware, but Aonuma was skeptical and stored the idea in the back of his mind. That is until Wii Sports Resort came out. After trying swordplay and archery, Aonuma felt that those mini-games had a similar feel to the Zelda series. Aonuma then told design leader Ryuji Kobayashi the game’s direction is going to change to support Wii MotionPlus. Kobayashi, unaware of Aonuma’s plan, was finalizing the basic battle controls with buttons.

That’s not the only change detailed in the Iwata Asks roundtable interview. Tanaka, the UI designer, was thinking about the game’s inventory system. Fujibayashi wanted an innovative system and Tanaka came up with the idea of twisting your wrist to change items. Iwata said that’s like changing the channels on an old TV. This idea was scrapped though since the wrist has a limited turning radius.

Early in development, the boomerang was actually the beetle, one of the new weapons made just for Skyward Sword. The weapon then evolved into a Rocket Punch, Kobayashi explained, who played around with the idea of a flying hand grabbing things. Once the design of the beetle was complete, the team started planning levels with the item in mind.

  9. PC verzija izide 18. novembra

The PC version of Batman: Arkham City will be released one month from now, on 18th November 2011.

Warner Bros. confirmed the date via a press release today.

Rocksteady told Eurogamer the PC version of Batman: Arkham City will be worth the wait, promising detail textures and "a more richly realised world".

  10. Zgornji videi v tekstovni obliki:

Nintendo said Friday that a software update for its 3DS handheld due in late November in Japan will add the ability to shoot movies in 3D.

The company said the movies will be limited to 10 minutes in length. It also added several different record modes, including the ability to shoot stop-action animations.

Company President Satoru Iwata outlined the new features in a prerecorded presentation streamed online, which the company called "Nintendo Direct."

Iwata showed the multiplayer features of the upcoming version of Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS, which will be launched Dec. 1 in Japan. These include a dedicated online channel for the game to set up racing communities, as well as the ability to obtain new go-kart parts and set up races with other individuals that come nearby physically using the device's "StreetPass" feature.

The 3DS will also expand its online social features, adding a map to keep track of where avatars are from, as well as new group games and the ability to move contents to a different console via the online store.

He also outlined a host of new games that will soon be available for download in Japan, including one that allows users to send handwritten messages and pictures back and forth.

    Za levičarje:

The New Zelda Won’t Have A Lefty Mode After All

I e-mailed Nintendo public relations to be sure and even linked them the IGN video, which makes verbal mention of it but doesn't show it, to make sure we were talking about the same thing. Now I've got an official response: Nintendo confirms there's no left-handed mode in the game. Go figure.

This is no tragedy. What it means, I guess, is that Link will hold his sword in his right hand as he did in the Wii version of his previous Zelda console game. Prior to that, he'd been a lefty in all of his most famous games.

This lefty/righty thing is an issue because Skyward Sword requires players to use a Wii Remote with Motion Plus to swing hero Link's sword with finesse, the kind of finesse a left-hander like me might not feel when wielding the Remote in one's right hand. This wasn't an issue with the previous Wii Zelda, Twilight Princess. That game tolerated cruder, less careful gestures and had a more limited and less interesting move-set as a result. A lefty like me could easily just put the Wii Remote in their left hand to play Skyward Sword, but that forces the Wii's Nunchuk to go in the right hand, and makes you move the character with your right thumb on the Nunchuk's thumbstick. That configuration had felt unnatural when I tried it. I didn't like it, but some Kotaku readers said that they might want to play Skyward Sword with the Remote in their left hand... as long as the game would put Link's sword in his left hand. That's what this lefty mode would have been, but it's not in there.

Without the lefty mode, Link will keep his sword in his right and the player will simply have to decide which hand to put the Remote in and which will wield the Nunchuk. I'm putting the Remote in my right.

My fellow left-handers, do not fret. I was okay. You will be, too.

    Battlefield 3 online pass confirmed

If you buy a used copy of Battlefield 3, you'll need to purchase an online pass to access the game's multiplayer features.

The confirmation comes from the Twitter feed DICE designer lan Kertz (via MP1st) who was asked by a follower, "do you need to buy a new battlefield 3 to play xbox live?"

His response? "You can also purchase an online pass for a used copy."

When asked by another follower to justify the system, Kertz replied, "Because servers cost money, and used games don't make developers any money."

"The whole idea is that we're paying for servers and if you create a new account there is a big process on how that is being handled in the backend," he explained.

"We would rather have you buy a new game than a used game because buying a used game is only a cost to us; we don't get a single dime from a used game, but we still need to create server space and everything for you.

"We want people to at least pay us something to create this because we're paying for it. It was actually a loss for us to have new players. Hopefully people understand why. It's not to punish people. To us it's compensation."
