Je že kdo probal "signat" z omenjenim key-em? Mogoče kak quick how-to tutorial?

lp, perme

PUPView is a GUI application used to view and extract the contents of the PUP update files for the Playstation 3. At the moment it will only permit you to extract, but I also have plans to simplify the creation of new PUP files thanks to the new keys released biggrin.gif

Tutorial: Patch PS3 v3.50 games for v3.41

modrobert writes: "Veritas? over at psx-scene.com has released a tutorial how to rebuild PS3 v3.50 games to run on firmware v3.41 by decrypting and patching EBOOT.BIN. You can find it in the wiki here. Besides a hex editor you need the fail0verflow PS3 tools. Games confirmed working using this method are Tales of Graces F, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit and Gran Tursimo 5."

Opa...

Today, Sony Computer Entertainment released the following statement:

Notice: Unauthorized circumvention devices for the PlayStation 3 system have been recently released by hackers. These devices permit the use of unauthorized or pirated software. Use of such devices or software violates the terms of the “System Software License Agreement for the PlayStation 3 System” and the “Terms of Services and User Agreement” for the PlayStation Network/Qriocity and its Community Code of Conduct provisions. Violation of the System Software Licence Agreement for the PlayStation 3 System invalidates the consumer guarantee for that system. In addition, copying or playing pirated software is a violation of International Copyright Laws. Consumers using circumvention devices or running unauthorized or pirated software will have access to the PlayStation Network and access to Qriocity services through PlayStation 3 system terminated permanently.

To avoid this, consumers must immediately cease use and remove all circumvention devices and delete all unauthorized or pirated software from their PlayStation 3 systems.

What this means to you

Circumvention devices and game piracy damage our industry and can potentially injure the online experience for you, our loyal PlayStation customers, via hacks and cheats.

Many PlayStation.Blog readers have asked how we intend to deal with these incidents that they have been reading about in the gaming press, and this is our initial response.

By identifying PlayStation 3 systems that breach our guidelines and terminating their ability to connect to PlayStation Network, we are protecting our business and preserving the honest gameplay experiences that you expect and deserve.

Rest assured, this message does not apply to the overwhelming majority of our users who enjoy the world of entertainment PlayStation 3 has to offer without breaching the guidelines detailed above, and we urge you to continue doing so without fear.

Sony allegedly included a rootkit in the v3.56 firmware update, which will allow them to detect users that have homebrew or pirated software in their PS3. According to Mathieulh, such functions are already present in the updated firmware, but it seems Sony hasn't activated them yet. If this is true, then this official statement could be the final warning before they start peeking into your system.

[GDC2011] Move.Me unveiled. PlayStation 3 server allows to create Move apps via PC [uPDATE: It begins this spring]

As anticipated a few weeks back, today Sony has indeed unveiled a new application which will allow anyone with a PlayStation 3 to fiddle with the PlayStation Move technology via PC.

It's called Move.Me. And it sounds awesome.

Senior Engineer at SCEA’s Developer Support team John McCutchan describes the application as follows:

"Move.Me is a server application that runs on the PS3 system. It allows anyone with a PS3 to experiment with motion controls and is officially sanctioned and supported by Sony Computer Entertainment. Move.Me sends the complete state of the PlayStation Move and navigation controllers to the PC, giving you the exact same data that licensed developers typically have access to."

Here is a diagram representing how the whole Move.Me thing is going to work.

MoveMeDiagram.jpg

What does this mean? According to McCutchan, Move.Me is "an opportunity to satisfy the need for new, innovative interactive technology in fields like academia, healthcare, and more, as well as to support new developers and inspire applications that we could never have imagined".

Later today, McCutchan will be giving a presentation of this new, interesting application at the ongoing Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Will report back if more details emerge.

In the meantime, you can start dreaming about turning your iWonder ideas into something real...

[uPDATE] Official Sony press release offers more details. Highlights below:

- The Move.Me application will be available for download from PlayStation Network this spring.

- The application is compatible with any Windows or Linux-based PC; other devices, such as tablets and smartphones, can also receive PlayStation Move's tracking data if they can connect to a PS3 system.

A few weeks back we reported that Sony was hiring IP investigators as part of forming a PS3 anti-piracy program, and today Dutch site PSX-Sense (linked above) reports that they may also be recruiting PlayStation 3 hackers as well.

According to rumor, Sarah McRae contacted Koushik Dutta regarding a Software Engineer position that is opening at SCEA.

Showtime Mediaplayer Ported to the PS3!

It's still in beta stage but should work to some extent. As it relies on FFmpeg for audio / video decoding it should be able to play most files as normal open source media players can do (XBMC, VLC, etc). I've not tested it thoroughly yet (in particular video playback).
