Far Cry 4 is now official and has a release date set for November and like previously rumored, it does indeed take place in the Himalayas.

Far Cry 4 will be available November 18 in the US, November 20 in Europe and November 21 in the UK for PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Ubisoft announced Far Cry® 4, an open-world, first-person shooter that delivers the most expansive and immersive Far Cry experience ever. Far Cry® 4 will be available November 21 in the UK for PlayStation 4® computer entertainment system, PlayStation® 3 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system, Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC.

Development on Far Cry® 4 is being led by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with Ubisoft’s Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai, and Ubisoft Kiev.

In Far Cry® 4, players find themselves in Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles, and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape.

“Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans’ expectations,” said Dan Hay, Executive Producer. “Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry® 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we’re eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months.”

Customers who pre-order Far Cry® 4 will receive the Limited Edition which includes Hurk’s Redemption, a series of three action-packed single-player missions featuring the popular character Hurk from Far Cry 3’s DLC. The Limited Edition also includes Hurk’s signature harpoon gun called “The Impaler”. The pre-order is now available at all major retailers.

Far Cry 4 features drop-in/drop-out “Guns for Hire” Co-Op, meaning that you and a friend can take on the wilds of Kyrat as a pair, exploring the world, taking down enemies and generally making everything as precise or as chaotic as you choose. Both players get experience, both players get in-game cash, and both players have an awesome time.

Capture outposts together, traverse Kyrat and make gains with anybody you know–or everybody you know. It’s a PlayStation exclusive and it means there are no limits to your Far Cry 4 experience.

For those of you who want to take advantage of Keys to Kyrat – Far Cry 4′s PlayStation-exclusive co-op feature where the 2nd person playing doesn’t need to own the game – you should be prepared to download a big client when the game launches this November.

Although specific file sizes weren’t shared, Eurogamer reports that you’ll need to download a client containing all of Far Cry 4′s content, excluding the story-based missions, as those are only accessible through single-player.

With the 2nd player joining as Far Cry 3′s Hurk, Technical Director Cedric Decelle revealed that co-op will be tweaked to be more difficult than single-player, though Ubisoft has yet to nail down exactly what this will include (hit points, damage received, enemy AI, and more are being tested).

For a little bit more information about Keys to Kyrat, Adam Boyes was interviewed by Giant Bomb (via NeoGAF), where he revealed that you’ll have 10 invites:

So when you get the game, you get 10 invites. You send an invite to one of your friends, they download the chunk, and they can play with you for a limited amount of time.

… When you kick into co-op mode, it turns the story mode off… even in the full game.

Zdaj če prav razumem boš lahko hkrati poslal maksimalno 10 povabil za co-op. Ta povabila bodo časovno omejena in se s časom resetirajo, da lahko ponovno pošlješ povabila.
