Sony has moved to calm fears over expensive digital PlayStation 4 games ahead of the console's European launch. After it was discovered that major publishers like EA had set digital prices for games like Battlefield 4 and FIFA 14 as high as £63 ($103), Sony has told Eurogamer it has activated its European PlayStation Network early, allowing it to perform tests and enable regional price adjustments ahead of its rollout on Friday. Both titles cost around £55 ($90) on the Xbox One, so today's changes will likely bring price parity between the two next-gen consoles. While Sony warns gamers that "nothing on the PSN is final" until its official launch, you'll still be able to pre-order any of its digital PS4 games (if you simply can't wait) and have the difference refunded if it drops in price.

Nemogoče da se špil velik 35gb nasname v 42 sekundah... PS4 se nasnemava ko ti igraš, recimo v 42 sekundah se nasname tolk špila da ga začneš igrat - to je že bolj verjetno. Pri xboxu pa mislim da moraš nasnet vsaj 50% špila preden ga lahko začneš igrat vendar po teh cifrah se je špil v celoti nasnel, hitreje na 5400 rpm disku ni mogoče.

A number of prospective PS4 owners were disappointed to see exclusives Killzone Shadow Fall and Knack for sale at £52.99 - a price higher than the disc versions from the high street and online shops. On Amazon, for example, Killzone is £48.

Given how hard both Sony and Microsoft are pushing the digital future of console gaming, and how cheap some games are on PC digital stores such as Steam, many had hoped for at least parity with the high street from next-gen.

"You mentioned Amazon as an example. Amazon control their own pricing. We don't set the pricing. So if they decide on some crazy low prices they'd like to charge their customers, that doesn't mean it's appropriate for the PlayStation Store to match or follow that price. These are effectively all independent retailers."

Despite this, Gara expects digital pricing to lower after the launch of the PS4 to something approaching parity with high street prices.

"Will there be a settling down and an alignment, and where would we expect digital pricing to be? We'd hope it would be roughly equivalent to street pricing for the disc. That's where we expect the dust to settle over time," he said.

It's being reported by MCV that the PlayStation 4 sold over 250,000 units in the 48 hours from launch. Impressive indeed and in fact MCV estimates that UK PS4 sales reached approximately £87m already.

Xbox One sold in the region of 150k units in its first 48 hours on sale, meaning that both have already got a larger install based that the Wii U which launched a year ago.

Em, Sony je ob lansiranju v ZDA prebil milijon, X1 pa komajda 700k. Letošnji black friday je bil bolj pisk na radarju glede prodaji X1 in PS4, saj je dost zgovorno dejstvo, da so tudi X1 ostajale na policah trgovin, PS4 pa marsikje sploh ni bil restockan zaradi EU launcha. Prav tako se na BF ne kupujejo toliko nove zadeve kot pa razni bundli tehnike in kaki izdelki pred odstrelom. Sicer pa, NPD pride v dveh tednih.

Bi pa bil polovični tržni delež za Sony v ZDA velika zmaga. V Evropi pa nekak ni dvoma, da bo imel Sony 60+ % tržni delež. Bi se stavil na 75+ %. Zdej samo, ali bo Sony držal zagon tudi v prvem kvartalu 2014..

One million units in a day was a pretty good start, and SCE's Andrew House has just announced that the company's now sold 2.1 million PlayStation 4s as of December 1st. That combines sales from the US, Europe and parts of Asia, although the Sony console hasn't reached every corner of the globe just yet. Perhaps everyone's read our recommendation...
