Torej novo nadaljevanje je potrjeno in bo nosilo naslov: Call of Duty Ghosts

Igra je potrjena za PC, PS3, Xbox 360 ter konzole nove generacije. Za Wii U pa trenutno še ni nič znanega. Datum izida pa je 5. november.

Več informacij bo znanih 21. maja, na Microsoftovi konferenci naslednika Xbox360.

Se govori, da bo X720 časovna ekskluziva (vsaj pol leta) in bo dobila dodatno ekskluzivno vsebino.

Me zanima ali jim bo tokrat uspelo spacati skupaj dejansko kaj res novega.

Drugače pa tako "CoD" kot tudi "časovna ekskluziva" je čisto v MS stilu.

Največja novost v seriji je nov game engine, ki omogoča Sub-D tehnologijo. Ta omogoča, da se poveča število poligonov na objektu kadar se mu približamo in obratno zmanjša število poligonov, ko se od objekta odaljimo. Vse to seveda v realnem času.

Environments benefit from new HDR (high-dynamic-range) lighting, self-casting shadows and tessellation.

The game begins with a prologue that reveals mass event experienced by two brothers first hand. Act one picks up with these characters 10 to 15 years later. They've grown up in this new world as a part of their lives.

"The great thing about that is now we get to have this world where things have changed from a status quo standpoint," Rubin says. "The United States and the West aren't the superpowers they used to be. Things have flipped around. The US is now an underdog and a resistance force constantly under attack and barely holding on and barely surviving. And there's someone else, which we're not talking about at the moment, who is the new superpower - someone who wasn't a superpower before."

"In previous Call of Dutys you were the badass. Now you're fighting against the guys with all the tech and superior technology and forces."

As for multiplayer - for millions the only reason to play Call of Duty - expect new, dynamic maps.

Map-changing events, from earthquakes and floods to player-driven actions, should add a touch of the unpredictable to proceedings. Explosive traps, for example, will change the flow of the map, Rubin says, and players will face gameplay mechanics that must be worked with to win.

Po dolgem času CoD, ki se ga vsaj malo veselim. Če bojo res vklopli možgane in se potrudli zmislit kaj novega ali vsaj drugačnega, bo to že nekaj. Te dinamične mape znajo naredit kar veliko spremembo. Upam, da ne bo samo enega al pa dveh površinskih eventov na vsaki mapi, ampak kar bolj izrazitega. Gosta megla, kake premikajoče giljotina-like stvari, random potresi, ki čisto spremenijo mapo itd. V videu so kazali neke kupe hlodov, ki jih lahko spustiš po hribu, kar tudi kr obeta, sploh če so pod hribom kaki kemperji. Plus za dinamične mape torej.

Premikanje bi naj bilo po novem bolj tekoče, do neke mere sorodno tistemu v Mirrors Edgeu, če je verjeti developerjem, kar bi lahko bilo za MP malo nerodno, se vam ne zdi? Razni skoki in slajdi za cover in ostale nepričakovane akrobacije? Sploh če bojo obdržali vse perke ali pa si še kakega zmislili bi to lahko bil recept za random madness.

Kampanje so v CoDih itak vedno over-the-top, pa vseeno zabavne, najbrž prav zaradi tega. Zanima me, če se bojo odločili za kaj daljšega, ali pa bo vse skupaj še vedno 5-urni šprint čez goro eksplozij, podiranja, on-rails pregonov in podobnih zadev. And what's up with the dog?

Rumor je da naj bi tole izšlo na WiiUju, zdaj pa naj bi to podkrepili še pri Gametrailers in Polygonu.

Me zanima če bo res, Black Ops2 mi ni bil preveč všeč, vsaj to futuristično okolje. Raje bi imel kaj podobnega v stilu Medal of Honor tistih začetnih delov ali pa COD na začetku. Bom še počakal na kakšne nove napovednike oz. E3.

Call of Duty: Ghosts runs at 1080p resolution on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Infinity Ward has said.

That's while retaining the shooter series' trademark super smooth 60 frames per second visuals.

Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin told Eurogamer for Ghosts the priority was to have the game, built on an improved version of Infinity Ward's existing engine, run at 60fps across all platforms, then build from there.

"We have a game that runs at 60 frames a second, we start putting stuff in and if something starts to affect that we'll either tweak it or take it out.

"The console versions are still in severe development, but it looks good so far. We actually have a 4K TV at work and got the game running on that. It looks phenomenal. The 4K TVs have a max hertz of 30, so we're maxing it out. It looks amazing!"

"We've never been the most hi-tech, super graphics check-box list guys. We try to make fun first. Then if tech helps make fun better then great. If not then we don't really need it."

Meanwhile, Rubin teased a Wii U version of Ghosts is indeed in the works, despite Nintendo's console being absent from the game's list of announced platforms. "Stay tuned," he said.

Activision je z igro CoD: Ghosts prvi najavil koliko nas bo stal prehod na novo generacijo konzol:

For a limited time, those who buy the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 version of the shooter when they're released on 5th November can pay £10 to upgrade to the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version when they're released afterwards.
