Mario Kart 8 bo novo poglavje v seriji iger o Mario Kartu. Zopet se vračajo motorji z Wii verzije, na voljo bodo 3D proge, prav tako pa bo vključena antigravitacija saj bodo igralci na stezah dirkali obrnjeni na glavo ali na steno. Igra bo na voljo za Wii U spomladi 2014.

Men je najbolj zanimivo, da me je MK8 od vseh Nintendovih first-party naslovov še najbolj navdušil grafično navdušil, ker Mario Karti do sedaj ponavadi res niso bili neki grafični presežki ... tale izgleda pa super, laufa s 60 fps in, če se ne motim, v 1080p. Najs.

Nintendo je končno zožil izid igre - Mario Kart 8 bo na Wii U prišel meseca maja.

Nintendo has revealed that Mario Kart 8 will be released in May during its quarterly earnings presentation tonight. Previously the Wii U-exclusive had only been pegged for a general "spring" release.

Over on CVG, some of the racer’s 32 tracks have been listed, including Shy Guy Falls, which sees players building up anti-grav power to race right up one of its many waterfalls. There’s also Mario Circuit, Mario Kart Stadium, Sweet Sweet Canyon, Thwomp Ruins, Sunshine Airport, Bone Dry Ruins, Cloudtop Cruise, Dolphin Shoals, Toad Harbor and Twisted Mansion.

Over on Nintendo Life, the guys have been playing through four cups, starting with the classic Mushroom Cup that includes Mario Kart Stadium, Water Park, Sweet Sweet Canyon and Thwomp Ruins. They reckon the tracks are fairly simple to navigate, but the game eases you in with a few blue anti-grav markers. Simply drive over one to make your ride drive along sheer walls or upside down.

Water Park also includes underwater driving, as seen in Mario Kart 7, while Sweet Sweet Canyon has flying sections. It sounds like you’re going to be jumping between play styles often. The tracks are said to ramp up considerably with new routes and challenges as you progress through Flower Cup, so it doesn’t seem all that simple.

Mario Kart 8 also has retro cups filled with classic tracks from previous Mario Kart titles. The preview tracks consisted of:

Nintendo Life also has compliments for Mario Kart 8′s visuals, saying, “With bright colours and a CGI cartoon approach to textures, the system is producing visuals that are delightful and not out of place in the era of PS4 and Xbox One graphics, stepping away from complex models — a score on which the system can’t compete — and utilising terrific art style instead.”

It’s also locked at 60FPS in single and two-player multiplayer. Anything higher is said to see frame-rate dips. Not bad.

Destructoid calls Mario Kart 8 “stunning and fierce in HD,” and adds, “The graphics are crisp, detailed, and very dense in design, and not to mention this game runs at a rock solid 60FPS and at 720p — which not only benefits the gameplay, but also the visuals.

Tale bundle naj bi prišel v Evropo. Vseboval pa naj bi poleg Wii U konzole z 32GB pomnilnika, Mario Kart 8 igro ter eno tedensko zastonj verzijo Wii Karaoke U. Cena naj bi bila 299€.

Če gre verjeti temu posnetku zaslona, potem nas čaka 30 likov kateri nam bodo na voljo za igranje. Potrdili so tudi, da bo Diddy Kong na voljo za igranje.

VG247 Italy has snapped a shot of the character select screen in the upcoming Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U. The screen taken shows that there are thirty playable characters to choose from. We heard from the Official Nintendo Magazine in Spain that Diddy Kong will be a playable character, but he’s absent in the default playable characters roster. No doubt he will make a welcomed appearance though.

Tole je res prvi špil za Wii U, ki me malo srbi, da bi začel razmišljati o nakupu ... hnnggh. Na E3ju nej napovejo Zeldo/Metroida, mogoče spustijo mal ceno, pa bom že nekak gnar napraskal.
